People believe that baseball had originated in Russia, but others believe it originated in the USA. The first official baseball game was played in New Jersey by 14 members of the New York Knickerbockers Club over 100 years ago. Since then they travelled around the world, putting on baseball games and getting other countries interested in the new sport. After a while, they finally made it to Russia and showed them how to play. It took them a couple of years to get used to the idea, but after that they started their own league. In 1938, the World Cup of Baseball originated. United States hosted it in 1974, Canada in 1990, and Russia is yet to have hosted it so far. The first time that all 3 countries played together was in 1912, was baseball was first announced it would be an Olympic sport.
