The main rules in football are to run the football to your opponets endzone. For each time you go in the endzone you get 6 points. After you get the touchdown you get to make a field goal and that is worth 1 point. It is also called the point after. If you don't make it into the endzone and you are within field goal range you can make one and get 3 points. There are 4 quarters and they are all 15 minutes long. You have to get a houndred yards to the endzone.

There are thing called first downs. A first down is when you have to get ten yards in 4 trys to get the first down. When a team is on there fourth down they mostly punt it. A punt is when the team kicks it down the field and the other team catchs it and runs it back to get some good yardage for his team. If the team trys to get the first down on there fourth down and fails then where ever the last had the ball the other team gets the ball where ever the other team had it.
