Now even first graders have mobile phones and spend time messaging. According to the data, number of messages sent grows dramatically from year to year. I am afraid that soon people won't be able to communicate at all, only sending messages. Members of one family will communicate by mobile phones sitting in one room!

We asked several students to share their opinions.

- When I had a phone, I used it for sending messages. I sent about hundred messages in a day. And it was very good and comfortable. I think SMS is a good thing.
But it is not addiction. Now, when I lost my mobile phone, I live normally without it. I want to send messages but I can live without it.

As you can see, 23% send about 25 messages per day and 4 send 50 (!!!) messages in a day!
Some students send messages during the lessons and they pay less attention to their studies waiting for the reply.
Different articles were read about SMS addiction. Doctors say that when people send many messages they become addicted not realizing it. Sending and receiving become a kind of drug. One can't feel normally if he doesn't send or get SMS. If the phone is lost it becomes a real tragedy for such people. I have heard about people who spend 6-7 hours on their mobiles daily and it is a horrifying figure.
Spending too much time on SMS makes our language worse. You think of how to make the message shorter, not about the correctness of expression.
SMS addiction is getting younger.
